Benalmadena

Classified a "Villa" of Tourist Interest on the Costa del Sol

Beyond its history, Benalmádena has multiple attractions for tourism: numerous beaches, different amusement parks, many cultural and leisure activities, abundant hotels and restaurants, golf courses and the Puerto Marina Marina. This port and residential complex, which has received the Prize for the Best Marine in the World on different occasions, also has a wide range of leisure, gastronomic, recreational and commercial activities.

Of the typical craftsmanship of Benalmadenses, the most outstanding works are those of both design and decorative ceramics, traditional and artistic forging, enameled metals and artistic locksmithing.

Its cosmopolitan character leads it to have a gastronomic offer as rich as it is varied, in which typical dishes of Andalusia and the rest of Spain are found along with those of an international cuisine.

With three different population centers: Benalmádena Pueblo, Benalmádena Costa and, between them, Arroyo de la Miel, this municipality is one of the important tourist enclaves of the Costa del Sol. Not surprisingly, at the end of the 70s it was declared a Villa of Tourist Interest, a title that then served to recognize an attractive offer of sun and beach, which today is complemented by an enhancement of its historical and cultural heritage and new infrastructure for the practice of sports and other leisure activities.
